Valsabor, S.A is a project dedicated to exporting Portuguese meat to international markets. Our goal is to make Valsabor, S.A the leader in pork exports in Portugal, raising the quality standards that the markets demand. Animal welfare is a priority for Valsabor, S.A and Agrupalto, which we guarantee through a quality certification system. All of our suppliers and pig farmers work continuously to ensure the good health and well-being of all animals.
All the pigs processed in our facilities are selected on the basis of comprehensive genetic and nutritional analyses. These control parameters ensure the maximum quality and uniformity of our meat.

The quality of our Frozen Pork Meat is controlled through monitoring each stage in our production chain, ensuring the highest quality at each step.
Animal welfare is a priority in our abattoirs. For this reason, all necessary measures are implemented to ensure it is respected: optimization of transport and holding pen times, automated conveyance of animals to the CO₂ stunning units, officially approved training for all personnel involved in animal handling and meticulous control of the entire procedure.
The company has Animal Welfare monitoring systems endorsed by various external certifications that annually validate our implemented programmes, ensuring that our animal protection standards go beyond current legislation.

Valsabor Frozen Pork Meat
Valsabor and its various production plants make up a fully integrated production and marketing process, covering all stages from reproduction, nutrition, and animal rearing to slaughter, quartering, packaging, and distribution of the end product, as well as all complementary processes (animal health, integrated logistics, etc.).
This verticalization and integration policy allows full traceability of any product to source and ensures consistent, stable quality throughout the production line.

Our Certifications
The main pillars of the manufacturing philosophy of Valsabor, S.A, are food safety, the environment and product quality. We are certified by SGS ICS IBERICA in accordance with the ISO22.000, BRC + BRC Module 11, and IFS food safety and hygiene standards, and in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management standard. We also hold OCA CALITAX certification for traceability from farm (live animals and food) to consumer. We have our own laboratory at our facilities, which is registered with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of LISBOA.
